Man City's League Cup clash with Watford was bizarrely invaded by noisy FC Twente fans making the most of their trip to the city ahead of their clash with Manchester Utd.

Swathes of fans from the Eredevisie side have descended on Manchester this week with a glamour Europa League tie at Old Trafford on Wednesday, hoping to pile some misery on former foe Erik ten Hag. Some arrived a day early and had some time to kill - so why not make it two games in two days?

At the Etihad, Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes had Pep Guardiola's team comfortably cruising in the first half, and with the atmosphere for a midweek League Cup tie somewhat subdued, it was some invading Twente ultras who raised the decibel count. Widely shared clips on social media showed pockets of Twente fans in the stands making some noise, with City going on to win 2-1.

One clip showed two small bands of Dutch punters engaging in some call and response. One group of fans are heard belting out a tune, before pointing to the other stand, where a larger section of ultras respond with the same chant.
