Man dead and murder investigation launched as man, 23, quizzed by police
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in South Yorkshire.
The man was arrested in York this morning (January, 17) after a body of a 63-year-old man was found at an address in the Conisbrough area of Doncaster. He was arrested by North Yorkshire Police at a hotel in Rougier Street at 9.40am.
It came after South Yorkshire Police launched a murder investigation last night. They were called at 9.29pm (Thursday, January 16) after the man's body was found by emergency services who pronounced him dead at the scene. His family are being supported by officers.

The arrested man remains in police custody at this time and a police scene will remain in place throughout the weekend while officers comb the area for clues. A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "Members of the public may have seen a large police presence in the centre of York this morning.
“We were carrying out an arrest of a suspect on behalf of South Yorkshire Police after they had travelled into our area. The 23-year-old man was arrested at around 9.40am on January 17 at a hotel on Rougier Street. He is now in police custody and will be transferred to South Yorkshire Police.”
Detective Chief Inspector Ben Wood, who is the Senior Investigating Officer for this case, added: "We understand that this news may cause concern in the local community, and I want to reassure you that a thorough investigation is underway.
"A number of officers will remain at the scene over the course of today and potentially over the weekend as they carry out further enquiries and establish the circumstances behind this incident.
"I would urge anyone with information or footage which may help our investigative team to please get in touch with us. Even the smallest piece of information could really aid our investigation so I would urge you to make contact if you can help us in any way."
