A MAN demanded money from an ASDA delivery worker in an attempted robbery.

The worker was sitting in a parked delivery van in Observatory View in Hailsham when an unknown man approached him and demanded cash.

However, the man fled the scene empty-handed moments later.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place between 9pm and 9.15pm on Thursday, September 29.

The man was white, approximately 5ft 8in and wearing a dark hooded jumper and balaclava.

Anyone who may have seen any suspicious behaviour, in particular the occupants of a vehicle thought to be driving through the area at the time is urged to contact police online or call 101, quoting serial 1402 of 29/09.
