Man Detained by Police as Fans Gather in London Ahead of England vs Scotland Euros Clash

At least one person was seen being detained by police officers in London’s Leicester Square on the night of June 17 as soccer fans gathered ahead of Scotland’s match against England in the Euro 2020.

Local police said on June 17 that they had implemented a “dispersal authority” until June 19 “in an attempt to reduce the likelihood of members of the public being caused alarm, harassment, and distress and the occurrence of criminality in the local area.” Police added that they had anticipated “anti-social behavior” ahead of the game.

This footage shows one person being led away from the crowd by police.
