Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses. He said: “I’m urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision and who is yet to speak to us, to do so as soon as possible.

“We’re also keen to trace the driver of what is believed to be a silver-coloured Volvo 40 which was travelling in the opposite direction shortly after the collision as they may have information that could assist with the ongoing investigation.”

Anybody with information is asked to contact officers at the Serious Collision Investigation Unit via the website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 24000975895.
