Man dies on Cornwall beach after medical emergency

A man has died following a medical emergency at a popular beach in Cornwall. Multiple emergency services, including an air ambulance, was called to Praa Sands on Saturday afternoon (Saturday, June 22) following a concern for welfare of a man.

Police officers were alerted to the incident at 3pm on Saturday. It was reported that a man was suffering a medical episode.

Sadly, and despite best efforts from emergency crews, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The man's death is not being treated as suspicuous. A file will be prepared for the coroner.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told CornwallLive: "Police were called by the ambulance service to Praa Sands beach at 3pm on Saturday, following a report of a person suffering a medical episode.

"The man was sadly confirmed deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
