Man dies in crash near Hampton while out on his motorcycle

A man has died after a crash near Hampton on Saturday evening (8 June).

Officers were called at around 11:00pm following a collision on the A308 Staines Road East involving a black Porsche Cayenne and a white Yamaha Fazer 8 motorcycle. The rider of the motorcycle, a 35-year-old man, sadly died at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

The road was closed for a few hours but has since re-opened. Surrey Police have now launched an investigation and are looking for witnesses. A spokesperson for the force said: "Were you in the area at around 11:00pm on Saturday? If you have any information, dashcam footage, or helmet-cam footage, please contact us quoting PR/45240064893"

It comes as, over the weekend, there were two other separate fatal collisions. A woman died at the scene of a car crash in Caterham in the early hours of this morning (June 9). Two others were injured, one in a life-threatening condition.

Elsewhere, a man died in a car crash in Compton on the B3000 on Saturday afternoon (June 8). Surrey Police was called at around 2.50pm to the collision involving a white Nissan Micra and a blue Mazda 2. A police spokesperson said: "The driver of the Nissan, a 64-year-old man, sadly died at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

"The driver of the Mazda was taken to hospital with serious injuries." The B3000 was closed between Priorsfield Road and The Street for around six hours as the crash scene team carried out an investigation.
