Man dies after crashing into wall in Cotswolds village

A man has died in a crash which involved a silver Ford Focus colliding with a wall. Gloucestershire Police were alerted to reports of a serious collision shortly before 8.25pm yesterday, Thursday, June 6.

Multiple emergency services attended the scene on the A436 Stanborough Lane, in the village of Notgrove, after it was reported that a vehicle had crashed into a wall. The victim, a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin has been informed.

The road was closed for a number of hours as police officers investigated. The road was reopened around 6am this morning, Friday, June 7.

Police are appealing for witnesses of the crash, or for anyone with information to come forward. Information can be given to police via this online form, quoting incident 454 of June 6.

A statement from Gloucestershire Police said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision which took place near Cheltenham yesterday evening (Thursday 6 June).

"Police were called to the A436 in Notgrove shortly before 8.25pm with a report that a silver Ford Focus had collided with a wall. Emergency services attended, however the driver of the car - a man in his 30s - was pronounced dead at the scene. His next-of-kin has been informed.

"The road was closed for a number of hours whilst officers conducted an investigation into the collision and reopened at around 6am this morning."
