A MAN has died after an incident in a Bournemouth road.
Emergency vehicles and an air ambulance rushed to the scene in St Stephen's Way after the alarm was raised.
A cordon was put in place while officers dealt with the incident and the man was taken to Poole Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 1.34pm on Thursday 7 December 2023 from Poole Hospital that a man had been found in need of medical attention following an incident in St Stephen’s Way in Bournemouth earlier that morning.
“Sadly, it was reported that the man – aged in his 70s – had subsequently died in hospital.
“Officers are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances of the death and a cordon was put in place to allow for an examination of the scene.
“There is nothing to indicate the death is suspicious at this time. The man’s next of kin have been informed and the coroner has been notified.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.”
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 10:31hrs on Thursday 7 December to an incident near St Stephens Way in Bournemouth.
"We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, two operations officers, and an air ambulance.”
