Man dies following serious crash between car and pedestrian in Bexley

A man has died following a serious crash between a car and a pedestrian in Bexley. The incident happened shortly 11.30pm on November 15, on Vicarage Road at its junction with Tile Kiln Lane.

The 60-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car. Officers, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said. A police spokesperson said: "His next of kin have been informed."

Police said the car failed to stop at the scene. A 45-year-old man subsequently attended a police station and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at a collision. He remains in police custody.

The spokesperson continued: "Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who was travelling on or near Vicarage Road at the time of the incident and may have captured events on dash cam to get in contact.
