Man dies after incident outside South West Lidl supermarket

A man has died following a serious medical incident at a South West Lidl supermarket. Emergency services were called to the Lidl store on Whitchurch Lane in Bristol on Friday, January 24.

Officers from Avon and Somerset Police, as well as paramedics attended the incident in the Bishopsworth area of the city. But the man, in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene, despite efforts from medics. The man's family have been informed, as BristolLive reports.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "At 11.20am on Friday 24 January we were made aware of a medical incident outside a store in Whitchurch Lane in Bishopsworth. Sadly a man in his 50s was pronounced deceased at the scene, despite the efforts of medics.

"The man's family have been informed and our thoughts are with them. The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file has been prepared for the coroner."

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 11:14hrs on Friday 24 January to an incident In Bishopsworth, Bristol. We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, an air ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a first responder and the hazardous area response team to the scene.”
