Man dies after medical emergency in Coventry

A man has died following a medical emergency in Coventry. It happened on Letchlade Close in Henley Green.

Paramedics were called to the incident at around 3.20pm on Friday (November 15). Crews from the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance also attended and landed next to Coventry College.

Medics found a man, who has not been named, in a critical condition on Letchlade Close. He was being helped by a bystander, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

Crews took over and battled to save the man, but his condition quickly deteriorated. He was pronounced dead a short time later, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

In a statement issued today (November 18), West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a medical emergency on Letchlade Close in Coventry on Friday (November 15). Two ambulances and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were sent to the scene at around 3.20pm.

“Crews found a man in a critical condition receiving basic life support from a bystander and immediately took over to administer advanced life support, but sadly, despite their best efforts, he could not be saved. He was confirmed dead at the scene.”
