Man dies in Queens Drive crash after car hits tree
A man has died after a car hit a tree on Queens Drive on Sunday. Merseyside Police confirmed a man in his 50s was rushed to hospital after the crash on the major road but sadly died .
Emergency services descended on the scene after reports of a crash at around 12.55pm today, November 24, near the Jolly Miller pub. Police shut the road in both directions between Moscow Drive and Mill Lane, with an air ambulance believed to have landed nearby.
When police arrived, officers found a car had been involved in a crash with a tree at the junction of Queens Drive and Kremlin Drive. The driver, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital but has died.

The road closure remains in place, with emergency services still at the scene, and people are advised to avoid the area. A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO: "Emergency services are currently in Old Swan following a fatal collision this afternoon, Sunday 24 November.
"At around 12.55pm, it was reported that a car had been involved in a collision with a tree at the junction of Queens Drive and Kremlin Drive. The driver, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital but he sadly passed away.
"There was no other vehicle involved. A road closure is currently in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area. If you witnessed the collision or have any information, you can call 101 or DM @MerPolCC on social media, quoting log number 367 of 24 November."
