Man Dies In Suspected Hit-And-Run Collision

Police are looking for a motorist after the suspected hit-and-run death of a man in Bristol.

The body of the young man was found in the Clifton area of Bristol on at around 6.45am on Saturday.

He was found in Gordon Road, near the Richmond pub, and police said it appeared he was involved in a road accident.

Detective Superintendent Carolyn Belafonte said: "We have evidence which suggests the man may have been involved in a collision and we're focusing our inquiry on locating the vehicle involved.

"I'm appealing to anyone who was in the Clifton area in the early hours of this morning, specifically the area around Gordon Road which is close to the Students' Union building, to call us if they saw or heard anything suspicious.

"We're still trying to inform the man's next of kin so we're not able to give out any more details about him at this stage."
