Man dies after tree fell on car on A34

A man has died after a tree fell on a car on Saturday morning (November 23) on the A34. The incident happened on the south-bound carriageway between Kings Worthy and Winnal.

The driver of the black Mercedes E350 - a man in his 60s - was confirmed dead at the scene. His family have been informed by officers, Hampshire and Isle of Wight constabulary said.

A silver Skoda Kodiaq was also damaged but no other injuries were reported. A police spokesperson said: "Lengthy lane closures have been in place while emergency services work at the scene and we want to thank motorists for their patience.

"We would now like to speak to anyone with information about this incident and particularly anyone with relevant dash cam footage."
