Man dies and woman in critical condition after stabbing in Bury St Edmunds

A man in his 40s has died after an incident in a car park in Bury St Edmunds on Tuesday.

Suffolk Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Harland Court off Station Hill at 3pm.

The man was declared dead at the scene and a woman, also in her 40s, has been taken to the hospital, where she is in a critical but stable condition.

Police arrested a 38-year-man, from Bury St Edmunds, on suspicion of murder after being detained by police officers near St John's Street and is being questioned.

Any witnesses or people who were in the area between 2pm and 3pm on Tuesday, are asked to call the Major Investigation Team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
