A man has decided to follow the daily diet of former US President Donald Trump to understand his eating habits.

TikTok creator Cooking With Congress was taken aback by 78-year-old Trump's daily food choices, which ranged from well-done steak to McDonald's for dinner every night. Sharing his experiment on TikTok, host Bennett Rea had a rocky start when he discovered that Trump's meal plan involved skipping breakfast in favour of a Diet Coke.

Bennett revealed: "Trump prefers to skip breakfast when he can, and he's not a coffee or a tea drinker. Diet Coke is his drink of choice, he had a Diet Coke button installed in the White House that sometimes supplied him 12 cans per day."

Snacks were also part of the experiment, with Bennett noting that Trump would typically munch on Lays (Walkers) Crisps or Doritos, but would always open a new bag even if some were still left in a previous pack. He attributed this to Trump being a "bit of a germophobe", which greatly influenced his dinner choices.

Despite consuming a staggering seven cans of Diet Coke during his experiment, Cooking with Congress still managed to tackle the unusual lunch and dinner options chosen by the former POTUS.

Next up was lunch, which took the form of a well-done steak smothered in ketchup alongside a Roquefort-dressed salad. He described the steak as "cooked until it curls on the plate" and noted that the modestly-sized meal left ample space for an indulgent dinner.

The day's eating concluded with a feast from McDonald's: two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fish, and a small chocolate shake, which Bennett admitted made him feel "pretty happy". He shared his mixed feelings, saying: "My tastebuds are pretty happy, my stomach was a little upset a few times. I'm pretty scared about tomorrow morning.

"I kinda can't tell whether I feel like playing tackle football or fighting a cop or just kinda like lying down in the darkness. I can't do Diet Coke anymore."
