Man fighting for life in hospital among four injured in three-car Aberdeenshire crash

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after a serious three-car crash in Aberdeenshire which saw four people taken to hospital.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A950 near Mintlaw on the road to Longside at around 6.25pm on Saturday, October 26.

The three vehicles involved includes a red Nissan Pixo, a red Ford Fiesta and a black Ford Escort.

The 40-year-old male driver of the Escort was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries and is described to be in a life-threatening condition.

The female driver of the Pixo along with two female passengers from the Fiesta were also taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

Police reopened the road after around eight-and-a-half hours after investigations and the recovery of the vehicles involved.

Officers are now appealing for information following Saturday's crash, urging anyone who witnessed the collision or those with dash cam footage to get in touch.

Sergeant Eoin Maxwell, of the North East Road Policing Unit, said: "Our enquiries into this collision are ongoing and we would urge anyone who may have information or who saw any of the vehicles on the road before the incident to get in touch.

"We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area. Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2915 of October 26."
