Man fined for driving car with children under five not wearing seatbelts
A MAN has been fined after driving a car containing children aged under five who were not in child seats and two of them were not wearing seatbelts.
Muqaddas Hussain, 31, of Thorn Wood, Chellow Dean, Bradford, faced a charge of using a motor vehicle/trailer the number of passengers/manner carried likely to cause danger, his car was stopped on Scotchman Road, Bradford, on October 2, 2022.
The court documents stated the Peugeot 308 he was driving featured three children inside, all appeared to be under the age of five and were not in child seats, nor wearing seatbelts.
One child in the front passenger seat of the car did not have a child seat, but their seatbelt was fastened.
One child in the back passenger seat of the car had no child seat or a seatbelt on.
Another child sat on their mother’s lap in the rear nearside passenger seat had no child seat or seatbelt.
Hussain was fined £33 and ordered to pay £90 costs and a £39 victim surcharge for the offence.
Hussain was also fined £33 for driving on a road whilst not wearing a seat belt.
Hussain pleaded guilty and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on January 19, 2023.
