A MAN has been found dead at an address in Bournemouth.
Police were called to a house close to the Athelstan pub in Cranleigh Road, Southbourne, to reports of an unresponsive man.
The force, along with the ambulance service, were called at Wednesday, December 6 shortly after 12pm.
Now, 26 hours after being approached, Dorset Police has said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for the force said officers have been trying to identify the man and inform his next of kin before they could release details.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
The spokesman said in a statement: “Dorset Police received a report at 12.11pm on Wednesday 6 December 2023 that a man had been found unresponsive at an address in Cranleigh Road in Bournemouth.
“Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and very sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been notified.
“Officers have been conducting enquiries to identify and inform the man’s next of kin and these were carried out as a priority before any information is released into the public domain.
“These enquiries remain ongoing.”
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 12:31hrs on Wednesday 6 December to an incident in Southbourne and we sent two double-crewed land ambulances.”
