Man found dead on Glasgow city centre street following 'concern for person'

A man has died on a city centre street following reports of 'concern for a person'.

Emergency services were called to West Campbell Street at around 11.50pm on Saturday, May 25, after the alarm was raised.

Medics rushed to the scene but tragically a 48-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.50pm on Saturday, 25 May, 2024 we were called to a report of concern for a man on West Campbell Street, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended however the 48-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
