Man found dead in luxury Tamworth housing estate as police launch investigation

Police are investigating after a man's body was found on a luxury housing estate. Emergency service crews were called at around 5am today, Tuesday, June 4, to Clifton Park, a gated estate with ‘exclusive homes’ off Netherseal Road in Clifton Campville, near Tamworth.

There they discovered the body of a man. West Midlands Ambulance Service was also called to the scene but nothing could be done to save the man.

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: “We were called at 4.56am to an incident on Netherseal Road, Clifton Campville. One ambulance and an East Midlands Ambulance Service crew attended the scene.

"Upon arrival we found a man. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

Staffordshire Police said it was investigating the cause of the man’s death and was quizzing people in the area. It said there would be an increased presence in the area, which is north of the village, in the coming days.

In a statement, a Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “We have launched an investigation following the death of a man near Tamworth. We were called just after 5am on Tuesday (June 4) to a report of a body found in Clifton Park, Clifton Campville.

“West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene. Sadly, the man was pronounced dead just before 5.30am. An investigation to establish the cause of the death is under way.
