Man found dead at property in Gwynedd as investigation launched
The body of a man has been found at a property in Gwynedd. A joint investigation involving police and fire officers has now been launched over the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
North Wales Police said its officers visited the house near Pwllheli on Sunday, January 12. It followed a report of the "unexpected death" of a 55-year-old man.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was subsequently called to the scene due to reports of evidence of a fire at the property. After inspecting the house, fire officers confirmed there was no longer an active blaze at the site.

Residents reported seeing several police cars and a forensic team at the address in Bro Cynfil, Penrhos, during yesterday afternoon and late into the evening. The man’s relatives have been informed and investigations will continue today (Monday, January 13), said North Wales Police.
A police spokesperson said: “Police attended a property in the Pwllheli area on Sunday, January 12, following a report of the unexpected death of a 55-year-old man. The man’s family and the coroner have been informed. We continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death jointly with the fire service.”

A fire spokesperson said: “Sadly, the body of a man had been found by officers inside the property. One crew and one officer attended following reports of evidence of a fire at the property, and confirmed there was no longer a live fire situation.
