Man found dead under Tavistock Viaduct

Police officers do not believe the man's death to be suspicious at this time

A man was found dead beneath Tavistock Viaduct, police have confirmed. Emergency services were sent to the area early this morning (Wednesday, June 5) after receiving reports expressing concern for a man's welfare.

Upon their arrival, they discovered a man in his 60s at the foot of the viaduct shortly afterwards. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police announced that he was declared dead at the scene.

The man's family has been notified. Currently, officers are conducting investigations to ascertain the circumstances of the man's death, but it is not considered suspicious at this time.

A police representative stated: "We were called at 7.30am today following concern for the welfare of a man in the Tavistock area. The man was located at the base of Tavistock Viaduct a short time later.

"The man in his 60s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed", reports Plymouth Live.
