A man has been shot in a broad daylight attack in south London.
A man was found at the location at the junction with Garratt Lane suffering from gunshot injuries.
He has been taken to hospital by paramedics where his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
A crime scene is in place as police search a cordoned off area conducting door-to-door inquiries.
The scene is just a few streets from Tooting Leisure Centre.
Neighbour Suswati Basu said she heard shots ring out.
She told the Standard: “I heard three loud bangs which I first assumed were either a car backfiring or shots.
“Next thing I know an ambulance arrived and a police car. Several more police cars arrived and cordoned off Fairlight Road. Now they appear to be going door to door on Fairlight Road.” Other neighbours reported hearing gun shots before a moped sped away from the scene.

She added that police dogs had been used to find a trace of the shells left discarded in the residential road.
Other neighbours reported hearing gun shots before a moped sped away from the scene.
Police said there had been no arrests.
Earlier, a 20-year-old man was shot in Portabello Road, Notting Hill, at 12.40am on Sunday.
His condition has been assessed as non-life-threatening or life-changing.
That attack came before a man’s hand was seriously injured in a reported machete attack in Chelsea on Sunday night.
