Man found seriously injured in Glasgow street as police patrol area following alleged robbery

A man has been left seriously injured after an alleged robbery in the Summerston area of Glasgow.

This morning (Wednesday, June 5) at around 6.45am, emergency services raced to Arrochar Street in the city after a man was found seriously injured.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment - his current condition is unknown. Officers remain at the scene with an "increased presence" expected in the area while investigations are carried out.

A 44-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the incident and Police Scotland say enquiries remain ongoing.

During a statement, a spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "There is an increased police presence in the area and anyone with any information or concerns can approach these officers."

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 06:44 hours to attend an incident on Arrochar Street, Glasgow. We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and one patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital."
