Man in hospital with serious injuries after collision involving car and horse and carriage
A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a collision between a car and a horse and carriage in Leicestershire. A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said officers were called to an incident in Tilton Road near Tilton on the Hill in the Harborough district by East Midlands Ambulance Service.
The force said it was called to the scene at 7.48pm on Friday (September 13). The collision had involved a silver Kia Sportage and a man driving a horse and carriage, police said.
The force said today (Sunday, September 15) that a 19-year-old man, who was driving the horse and carriage, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He is continuing to receive treatment while the horse is receiving veterinary care.

No other injuries have been reported. Detective Constable Madeleine Hayes, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and who witnessed the incident, or saw either of the vehicles beforehand, to please get in touch if you have not already spoken with police.
