Man in hospital with serious injuries after crash on M1 slip road at junction 21a
A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on an M1 slip road. Police were called to the single-car collision at the junction 21a exit slip road, on the northbound carriageway, for the A46.
The car involved was a white Volkswagen Polo and police say the driver – a 19-year-old man – was taken to hospital where he currently remains with serious injuries.
No-one else was reported to be in the car and no other injuries have been reported. A Leicestershire Police investigation is underway.

The collision, near Kirby Muxloe, was reported to the force just after 3am on Sunday, September 15, and paramedics were in attendance.
Detective Constable Charlotte Wright, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A man remains in hospital with serious injuries. We are continuing to establish what has happened and how it has happened and have been speaking to a number of people who were at the scene.”
Three lanes were closed for several hours on the northbound carriageway of the motorway between junction 21a and junction 22 (for Coalville / Leicester). The exit slip road was also closed for several hours but all laves have reopened.
