POLICE have identified a man they want to speak in relation to an alleged racist incident at a recent football match.

Blackburn and Darwen Police earlier today (May 19) said they wanted to speak to the man in connection with the incident, which is alleged to have occurred during Blackburn Rovers match against Bournemouth in the SkyBet EFL Championship match at Ewood Park on Saturday, April 30.

Rovers' final home game of the 2021/22 season, they were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Bournemouth who went on to secure promotion to the Premier League.

A police spokesperson said: “Further to our earlier appeal, we have now identified a man we wanted to speak to after alleged racist comments were made during the Blackburn Rovers FC vs AFC Bournemouth match in April.

"Thanks to everyone who shared our appeals for information."
