Man injured in attempted murder bid in Greenock pub rushed to hospital
Detectives have launched a probe into an alleged attempted murder bid at a pub in Greenock.
The incident took place around 6.30pm on Tuesday, September 17, within licensed premises in Cathcart Street.
A 60-year-old man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a serious condition. His family are being supported by police officers during this difficult time.

Detective Inspector Nicky Beattie said: "The family of the man are being supported by police and being kept up to date with the ongoing investigation. I am appealing to anyone that can help with our investigation to come forward.
"We believe there were a number of people within the premises at the time and I would appeal to anyone who was there on Tuesday night to speak to us if you have not already done so.
"Those with information can speak to officers by calling 101 and quoting incident number 0962 of 18 September. Alternatively, you can make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
