Man injured after being 'hit by bus' on Hessle Road

A man was hurt after reportedly being hit by a bus in Hull this afternoon.

Hessle Road was closed in both directions by Humberside Police after the collision at approximately 2pm. The road reopened at around 2.35pm. An image from the scene was posted on Hull Live's Traffic & Travel Facebook page.

Humberside Police said the man was taken to hospital. The force is now appealing for witnesses or those with CCTV or dashcam near the scene to come forward to help with its investigation.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police told Hull Live: "Officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Hessle Road between Boulevard and St George's Road at around 2pm this afternoon (Tuesday 8 October).

"It is reported a bus collided with a pedestrian, and the pedestrian, a 52-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening at this time.

"The road was closed at the time to allow emergency services to work safely. If anyone witnessed the collision, or has dashcam from around the time it occurred, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 311 of 8 October.”
