Man injured after incident on Cambridge street

A man has been taken to hospital following an alleged assault in Cambridge on Tuesday morning (November 5). The police were called to Darwin Drive at 7:45am after reports of violence.

It is believed that the man had been assaulted. The man then walked to the Esso Garage on Histon Road and fell into some glass bottles.

The man suffered injuries as a result of the glass bottles breaking and he was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital by emergency services. No arrests have been made as of yet.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "We were called out to Darwin Drive, Cambridge, at 7.45am this morning (Tuesday) with reports of violence.

"We believe a man was assaulted at the address and made his way to the nearby Esso Garage, in Histon Road, where he fell into a display of glass bottles and suffered injuries as a result of the broken glass. He has been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

"The suspect of the earlier assault is currently unidentified."
