Man jailed after throwing bricks and rocks at parked cars in Gravesend
A man has been jailed after throwing bricks and rocks at parked cars in Gravesend. Neil Burt, 65, caused damage to five vehicles over a three-day period.
At 10pm on Tuesday (January 21), Burt targeted a car dealership in Overcliffe. He threw pieces of brick at four stationary Vauxhalls, smashing a windscreen and causing scratches, gouges and scuffs.
He was arrested around 30 minutes later after officers from Kent Police were called to the scene. Yesterday (January 23), Burt admitted four counts of criminal damage at Medway Magistrates’ Court and was immediately sentenced to eight weeks’ imprisonment.

Burt had previously appeared at the same court on Monday (January 20), when he admitted his involvement in a separate incident that took place the day before when a rock was thrown at a windscreen of a car parked at North Kent Police Station. As well as the prison sentence, Burt was ordered to pay a total of £740 in compensation relating to all five cars.
