Man Left Bloodied as Protesters Clash With Police at Minneapolis Rally

A man was left bloodied as police responded with force to chaotic protests in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on May 27 following the arrest and subsequent death of George Floyd two days prior.

According to local reports, police fired tear gas and rubber bullets towards protesters as many gathered outside Minneapolis Police’s 3rd Precinct building. A local Target store was looted while windows on the police building were also reportedly shattered.

In these videos, protesters can be seen gathered outside the 3rd Precinct building as armed police watch from the roof. A man can also be seen holding a rag to his bloodied head as he stands in a nearby parking lot.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called for criminal charges against the arresting officer, identified as Derek Chauvin, who was captured in a disturbing video kneeling on Floyd’s neck. Floyd was later declared dead. Credit: Anna Keltto via Storyful
