Man left in critical condition after Keynsham burglary

A man has been left in critical condition after he was attacked in his home during a burglary in Keynsham. The man opened his door to two men around 1.30am on Sunday, November 3, who barged in and attacked him.

The man reported that after he was assaulted, the two people left his home with alcohol and mobile phones. Police are appealing for witnesses and CCTV or doorbell footage of the burglary.

Avon and Somerset Police have released descriptions of the people they believe to be involved. One man is described to be in his early 30s, white and clean shaved with brown hair. He was dressed casually in blue jeans.

The second person has been described as being a white man, in his early 20s, roughly 6ft tall and slim with dark hair. He was also dressed in black and wore a mask, police have said.

The ambulance service was called to Tenbury Road around 3am on Sunday (November 3). The man was taken to hospital, where his condition worsened. His next of kin have been made aware.

Detective Sergeant Nina Wilson said: “We’ve carried out a number of fast-track enquiries and now need help from the community to find those responsible. I’d like to reassure people that there is no evidence to suggest any wider risk to the public.

"If you have any information, dashcam or other footage which could help the investigation, we want to hear from you.”
