Man left with facial fractures and broken ribs in suspected robbery

The victim of a suspected robbery was left in the street with a facial fractures and broken ribs. Police are investigating the incident, believed to be a robbery, which took place in Stroud town centre on Tuesday, May 28.

A 54-year-old man suffered broken ribs, facial fractures and cuts to his face. He requires further medical treatment for the injuries he sustained.

The exact location of the incident is not known, but the victim was found on the floor outside Betfred on the High Street just before midday. The victims wallet which contacted £200 was also reported missing.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. A statement from Gloucestershire Police said: "Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area between around 11am and 12.10pm that day who may have information which could assist the investigation.

"Anyone with information is asked to provide this to police online by completing the following form and quoting incident 163 of 28 May".
