Man left with serious head injury after 'altercation' as police ask for witnesses

A man was seriously injured after an 'altercation' in Newmarket. Suffolk Police released an appeal to find an unknown man involved in the incident.

The altercation took place in St Mary's Square between 5pm and 5.30pm on Thursday, October 31. It involved two men.

The victim was reportedly approached by an unknown man, described as a white man in his late 20s. A Suffolk Police spokesperson said: "The two reportedly then got into an altercation in which the victim sustained a serious head injury.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any images or footage that could assist the inquiry is asked to contact Suffolk Police, quoting crime reference 37/62161/24." Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101 or by reporting the incident online.
