Man puts naked mannequins in front garden after neighbour complains about high fence

A homeowner decided to arrange a display of naked mannequins in his front garden after a “nosy neighbour” complained his fence was too high.

Jason Windus built a six-foot fence so his dogs could have some space to run around in outside his home on the corner of a street in Santa Rosa, California.

But he was forced to cut the fence in half after an anonymous complaint was made to the local council and he was found to be obstructing the view of motorists at a junction on the corner.

Rather than getting angry, Mr Windus, who owns a removal company, decided instead to throw a garden party for a collection of mannequins he had at his home from a job for a clothes shop.

He also erected a sign aimed at the person who reported him, which read: “Reserved seat for the nosy neighbour that complained about my fence to the city.”

The business owner told KTVU the display had attracted a lot of attention, with about 50 people stopping to take pictures and “telling me how great it is”.

He also told ABC 7 the council planned to fine him every day until the fence was altered, and that he did not know who had reported him.

A spokeswoman for the City of Santa Rosa told KTVU that the code enforcement office received a complaint filed by a resident in October 2018.

The fence was found to be three feet too high and council staff met with Mr Windus in February 2019 to discuss his options.
