Man rescued from Helston house fire with badly burnt hands
A man has been treated for burns to his hands after being rescued from a house fire in Helston. Fire crews were called to Wendron Road last night, February 1, following a concerned call from a member of the public at around 8.45pm.
The man was rescued from the property by firefighters and was taken to hospital. The fire was extinguished and checks were made to neighbouring homes. Devon and Cornwall Police were also on the scene who were carrying out an investigation.
A Cornwall Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "Critical control received a call from a member of the public at 20.43 confirming a house fire, and two appliances were mobilised from Helston and Tolvaddon, as well as a station manager. On arrival, two BA (breathing apparatus) crews using two HR (hose reel) jets and TIC (thermal imaging cameras) entered the building and made it 'persons reported'.
