Man rushed to hospital after being assaulted and robbed in Port Glasgow

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed in Port Glasgow yesterday.

The 56-year-old was rushed to hospital following the incident on Montgomerie Street at around 2pm on Saturday, November 23.

The man was robbed of his wallet and jewellery. He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and released after treatment.

The two suspects are described as white, aged between 20-30 years and of slim build. One was wearing grey clothing and the other was wearing black clothing.

Detective Constable Agnieszka Telford said: “Our investigation is continuing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and trace the two men responsible.

“If you were in the Montgomerie Street area on Saturday afternoon and witnessed anything suspicious or relevant to this enquiry, please contact us.

“Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting incident number 2473 of 23 November. Alternatively, contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
