Man rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus on busy Scots street

A man was rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus in Kilmarnock on Saturday night.

A 28-year-old man was knocked down by the private coach on John Finnie Street at Langlands Street and West George Street at around 5.05pm on Saturday, February 1.

Emergency services scrambled to the scene as police closed the street off and the man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital.

Police Scotland shared the following statement to their social media: "John Finnie Street in Kilmarnock has reopened following a crash involving a bus and a pedestrian that happened around 5.05pm on Saturday, 1 February, 2025.

"Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 28-year-old man, was taken to Crosshouse Hospital.

"Motorists are thanked for their patience."
