Man rushed to hospital after being shot on busy South London road

A man has been rushed to hospital after being shot on a busy south London road last night (Friday, January 31). Police are appealing to the public to help them catch the person responsible.

The man “sustained a gunshot wound” at around 11.30pm on Peckham Hill Street yesterday evening. His injuries have been deemed as non life-changing.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. They have asked that anyone from the public who witnessed the event or who has video footage gets in contact with them.

A spokesperson for Southwark Police posted to X: “Police are investigating a shooting that took place last night at 23:25hrs on Peckham Hill Street, SE15.

"A man sustained a gunshot wound. His injuries are non-life changing.

"Witnesses and anyone with video footage are encouraged to call police on 101 quoting CAD 8406/31JAN25”
