Man seen carrying crossbow down street as police appeal for information

Police scoured an area after a reported sighting of a man with a crossbow. Officers were called to Victor Street in Walsall following the scare.

They searched the immediate area but were unable to find anyone matching the description of the man. Nobody armed with a weapon was found and now police are asking anyone with information to get in touch.

The sighting was reported just after midday on Monday, July 8. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police told BlackCountryLive that they are reviewing CCTV in the area.

They added: "We received reports of a man carrying a crossbow in Victor Street, Walsall, at around 12.15pm on Monday (8 July). Officers searched the area and found nobody matching the description, or armed with a weapon."

The spokesperson continued: "We're reviewing CCTV and anyone with information can contact us via Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101, and quote 20/565454/24."
