According to a release from the District Attorney’s Office, Ernesto Sandoval-Del Rosario, 35, was sentenced to a 50-year sentence and two 10 year sentences for aggravated sexual offenses.

The judge ordered that two of the sentences run consecutively, and Sandoval-Del Rosario will be eligible for parole after serving at least 30 years in prison.

A release said a family member of the victim became aware of the sexual abuse on May 5, 2020 and reported it to authorities, who after collecting evidence took Sandoval-Del Rosario into custody the next day where he was held on a $1 million bond until trial.

“The District Attorney’s Office would like to thank the Nacogdoches Police Department and Harold’s House for their work in this case,” the release said. “The jury’s verdict has helped to ensure that this Defendant will not be able to continue to prey on young victims.”
