One local resident told the ECHO: "It's really uneasy around here at the minute. Police have been here since last night. It's not what we want to see here, and if forensics are involved then it must be serious." Another woman, on Miranda Street added: "It's never good when forensics are here, which is too often."
Another local told the ECHO: "Stuff like this keeps happening, but most people around here are good and just trying to get on with their lives." Chief Inspector Gill Kearns of Merseyside Police said: “Enquiries are in the early stages as we seek to establish what has taken place.
“We are carrying out house-to-house enquiries and viewing CCTV in the area to assist with the investigation and would ask anyone who was in the area this evening who saw or heard anything suspicious to contact us as a matter of urgency.” Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or Crimestoppers anonymously quoting log 710 of 18 September.
