Kinston man dead after tractor crushes him

COFFEE COUNTY, Ala (WDHN) — An elderly Kinston man died in a Florida Hospital over the weekend after a tractor rolled on top of him in rural Coffee County, according to Sheriff Scott Byrd.

Sheriff Byrd identified the man as 79-year-old Wendell Moore of Kinston.

According to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, Moore was seriously injured on Friday, February 16, after his 1970s Allis Chalmers tractor rolled over him in a field in the 1000 block of Highway 134 in Kinston.

Sheriff Byrd tells WDHN that when his deputies arrived on the scene and found Moore, he was aware and responsive before being transported to Fort Walton Medical Center.

Moore died in the hospital on Saturday morning.

His funeral service will be held by Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, February 20, at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, Moore will be laid to rest in the Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens.
