Man seriously hurt in 'attack with weapons' after 'car chase' ends in smash
A man has been left seriously hurt after being 'attacked with weapons' following a car chase in Tameside.
Police said two cars were spotted driving 'at speed' down Edge Lane in Droylsden last night (Friday, November 1). Officers believe the drivers were chasing each other towards Manchester, when one of the cars crashed near the tram stop at around 8.10pm.
A man inside this car was then 'attacked with weapons'. He remains in hospital with serious injuries.

No arrests have been made, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said. A full investigation has been launched into the 'violent incident'.
Last night, a cordon was reportedly put in place on a stretch of Edge Lane near the Metrolink stop as officers carried out investigations. Officers now want to speak to any witnesses, or anyone with dash cam, doorbell or CCTV footage.
Detective Chief Inspector Anna Barker, from GMP's Tameside district, said: "We are currently investigating the full circumstances of last night’s violent incident, and we have multiple officers undertaking all appropriate lines of enquiry. While a man suffered serious injuries, we are fortunate that we are not talking about an even more serious outcome, and we are determined to locate those responsible.
