Man seriously injured after collision involving off-road motorbike in Fenham
An investigation has been launched after a man suffered serious injuries in a Newcastle collision. At around 7.25pm yesterday, emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision at the junction of Philip Street and Stanton Street in Fenham.
It was reported that an off-road motorcycle collided with a Skoda Superb car which was travelling eastbound. A 38-year-old-man, the motorcycle rider, suffered serious injuries and he was then taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the car remained at the scene, and he is assisting officers with their enquiries. The road was closed for a number of hours following the collision, but it has since reopened.
A full investigation has been launched by Northumbria Police’s Roads Policing Unit, and officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are keen to hear from motorists who were driving in the area at the time, and any witnesses who may have dashcam footage or CCTV which could assist their enquiries.
