Man seriously injured after falling from Duncan Edwards Way bridge in Dudley

A man has been left seriously injured after falling from a bridge in the West Midlands. Police have currently closed a road and asked people to avoid the area.

The man fell from a bridge on the A461 Duncan Edwards Way in Dudley, police say. Officers were called to the scene just before 9am today, January 11.

West Midlands Police say a section of the road remains closed to traffic this morning. West Midlands Roads posted on X to say that Duncan Edwards Way was closed between Castle Gate and Flood Street, due to an incident on the Hall Street bridge passing over the A-road.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We were called after a man fell from a bridge on Duncan Edwards Way, Dudley, at just before 9am today (11 January). A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"A section of the road is currently closed and we'd ask people to avoid the area where possible."
