Man seriously injured in stabbing near Midland hospital

A man was seriously injured in an alleged stabbing attack near to a hospital. Ambulance crews were called to Wolverhampton Road in Walsall following an incident just before 9.30pm on Tuesday, September 24.

A paramedic officer, critical care car and MERIT trauma team attended. The man was treated at the scene and was found to have sustained serious injuries.

He was then rushed to hospital for emergency care, a spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said. They added: "We were called to reports of a stabbing at 9.28pm (Tuesday, September 24) on Wolverhampton Road, Walsall.

"An ambulance, paramedic officer, a critical care car and the MERIT trauma team attended. A man received trauma care by the team of ambulance staff after being found with serious injuries.

"He was conveyed by ambulance on blue lights to hospital for further emergency care." The incident happened close to Walsall Manor Hospital although it is not confirmed which hospital the man was taken to.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police has been approached for comment.
